Jennifer was born in Macon and has been with Primary Pediatrics as a Nurse Practitioner since 2008. Jennifer completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Medical College of Georgia in 2002. She went on to earn her Master’s in Nursing from Kennesaw State while also completing the WellStar Family Nurse Practitioner Program in 2004. While in school, Jennifer was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. She’s also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Jennifer and husband of 19 years, Gene, have three children, Kaleb, Chloe Kate, and Carson. Jennifer enjoys long distance running and triathlons.
Laura Frawley, FNP, NP-C
Laura was born in Virginia and moved around with her Air Force father and their family until landing in Georgia in 1992. Laura graduated from the University of Georgia in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Science, and went on to earn her nursing degree from Georgia College and State University in 2005. She later went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing in 2017. She’s a certified FNP with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In school, she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi academic honor society and Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Laura has been married to her husband, Doug, for 16 years and they have two boys and one girl. Laura loves to travel, spend time with her family, and watch her kids play the sports they love.
Brooke Garretson, FNP, NP-C
Brooke is from Macon GA, and graduated from Middle Georgia State College with Bachelor Science of Nursing in 2006. She went on to South University and graduated with her Masters of Science in Nursing in 2016. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Brooke joined Primary Pediatrics in March 2017, and works as an After Hours Nurse Practicioner. She is married to Ben Garretson and mom to 3 sons, Harris, Hayes and Hawkins. They attend Ingleside Baptist Church, and Brooke enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, and going to the beach.
Danielle Gattie, CPNP
Danielle Gattie joined Primary Pediatrics in 2017 as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She has ten years of pediatric nursing experience before joining Primary Pediatrics, including working in the pediatric ICU and working with children with special needs.
Danielle received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Columbus State University and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Master of Science in Pediatric Primary Care.
Danielle is married and is proud of her three wonderful and active kids. She and her family attend Gray United Methodist Church.
Mary Giddens, CPNP
Mary grew up in Alma, Georgia and has lived in Central Georgia for 13 years. She earned her BSN-RN from the University of Georgia and her MSN-CPNP from the University of South Alabama. Mary was named a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nurse Certification Board. She was a NNICU Nurse for 12 years before joining Primary Pediatrics in December 2018 with her primary role being an After Hours Nurse Practitioner. Mary has been married to her husband, Zach, for 13 years. They have two boys and one girl. Mary enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves.
Lori Slade Lowery, FNP, NP-C
Lori was born in Warner Robins, Georgia. She earned her dietetics degree from the University of Georgia in 2004 where she graduated summa cum laude. In 2006, she went on to earn her BSN from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky and later earned her MSN from Spalding University. Lori joined the Primary Pediatrics team in 2010 as a Nurse Practitioner. She is married to David, the Primary Pediatrics Pharmacist, and they share four children. Lori enjoys exercising and spending time with her family which attends Southside Baptist Church.
Joni Milner, CPNP
Joni Milner joined Primary Pediatrics in 2010 as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development in 1995. She then received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1997, which is also where she later completed her Master of Nursing degree in 2002. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society. Before working in primary care, she was a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Joni and her husband Jesse have three children, and they are always on the go with school activities and sports. She is an active member of Gray United Methodist Church and is also a member of the Jones County Board of Health. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
Kim Purcell, CPNP
Kim joined Primary Pediatrics in 2015. She attended the University of Georgia where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Kim then pursued her interest in nursing and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Clayton College and State University. After working for 16 years in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Atlanta, she obtained her Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She is board certified and a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. In her spare time, Kim enjoys traveling, photography, watching the Dawgs play, and spending time with friends and family.
Jo Beth Roberts, CPNP
Jo Beth was born in Tifton, Georgia, and has been in Macon since the early 1980’s. She graduated from Macon College in 1993, The Medical College of Georgia in 1999, and Georgia State University in 2002. In school, she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Jo Beth joined Primary Pediatrics in 2015 and later retired from Navicent Health, after 26 years of service in pediatrics. She lives with her husband, Glenn, who is a cardiovascular perfusionist. They have two wonderful children and two beautiful grandchildren.
Stefanie Smith Tate, FNP, NP-C
Stefanie Tate joined Primary Pediatrics in 2007 as an RN and now serves as a nurse practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gordon College and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her past medical experience includes dermatology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and emergency medicine.
Stefanie and her husband, Brian, attend Ingleside Baptist Church and have two sons and three grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Dave Toth, FNP, NP-C
Dave was born and raised in New Jersey and came to Macon in 1992 to play baseball for the Macon Braves. Dave graduated from Georgia College and State University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. A career change led him to Middle Georgia State to earn his nursing degree in 2008. He went on to Georgia Southwestern State University to earn his BSN, and South University for his MSN in 2018. Dave’s nursing experience spans 11 years in Cardiac Cath lab and Emergency Room. He joined Primary Pediatrics in 2018 as a Nurse Practitioner. Before joining the practice, Dave played professional baseball for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox. He’s been happily married to his wife, Dana, for 5 years and they share 6 children together. Dave and his wife are passionate about health and wellness and enjoy weight training and outdoor fitness activities.
Amy Wood, FNP, NP-C
Amy has worked for Primary Pediatrics for 17 years, though she recently joined the group of nurse practitioners in 2017. She competed undergraduate studies at Middle Georgia State College in 2012. In 2017, she completed the family nurse practitioner program at Walden University. She works in the Warner Robins office during the week and also fills in at After Hours. She has three beautiful children and has been married to her high school sweetheart for 18 years. Amy loves children and in her free time she enjoys camping, serving in her church, and spending time with her family.
Julia Yawn, CPNP
Julia Yawn joined Primary Pediatrics in 2013 and serves as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development. In 2007, she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University. She later completed the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Georgia State University in 2012.
Julia has more than a decade of pediatric experience, working as a pediatric RN at the Medical Center Navicent Health for nearly six years before joining Primary Pediatrics. She’s married to her husband Thomas and together they have three children. She attends Ingleside Baptist Church where her family enjoys serving together. In her free time, she loves photography, home DIY projects, and being outdoors with her family.
