Dr. Lyra Ratmeyer, MD

Dr. Lyra Ratmeyer joined Primary Pediatrics in 2006 and is the after hours pediatrician at the McDonough office. Before joining Primary Pediatrics, she had a solo pediatric practice in Bainbridge Georgia for six years. Dr. Ratmeyer also served as Chief of Pediatrics at Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge and was an EPIC Breastfeeding Physician Trainer.

Dr. Ratmeyer was born in the Philippines, grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and graduated from Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and Biology from Emory University and later graduated from Mercer University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in 1998 where she served as chief pediatric resident.

She and her husband Steve Ratmeyer have two children, Max and Nora. Dr. Ratmeyer enjoys serving on the school council and volunteering with her children’s school. She has been a Henry County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer for several years and even teaches kindergarteners and first graders gardening concepts. She sings in the choir at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church and is on the Board of Directors of the Walden Water Warriors summer swim team.
